Mitt Romney Says: ?Happy Gay Pride!?

I have previously warned against pinning our hopes on the California Supreme Court. It is not easy as someone with legal training to abandon the judicial avenue. But today the director of Equality California that the gay marriage question might very well end up on the ballot in 2010. This weekend there is a scheduled in favor of full equal rights for LGBT people. It’s likely not going to sway the Court’s mind and a protest in a few days won’t do much for the voters in 2010. Still the public display is certainly important. The debate about the effectiveness of protest is still very much alive. And some of the largest protests in recent history have resulted in very little change (I’m recalling ). Still as LGBT people. I think it’s time we reassert visibility. In the era of the L word and Brothers and Sisters it’s easy in big metropolitan areas to assume that everyone interacts with gay people on a regular basis. Those without the large support of a gay community aren’t likely to stand up and announce their existence their relationships their desire for equal rights. The LGBT community is never going to convince the religious base that their marriages have nothing to do with ours. However there are a huge number of individuals in the middle. Those who chose yes to Proposition 8 or Proposition 2 or any other Proposition because they saw some advertising because they weren’t sure what it meant but knew that protecting family and children are important. Maybe they chose “yes” because their neighbor pastor or boss told them it was the right choice. Those are the people who need to see exactly whose rights they took away. So let’s encourage visibility. Attend the protest and let people know whose lives they are effecting. Last night New Yorkers engaged in peaceful against last week’s passage of Prop 8. While there is no official number of the protesters (if you were there let us know how it went) the spirited crowd marched down Broadway to Columbus Circle where the city’s Church of Latter Day Saints’ Mormon Temple is located. Mmmm. Wonder why that place was picked. A few hours ago the FOX News website posted a story about a little old lady beaten by gay protesters. The story with almost no factual content seems just a little biased against the LGBT rally attendees. It doesn’t unfortunately say much about why the little old lady was present carrying a huge cross on her back.

Flower Gardening :: Happy Ending :0)

The last 2 weekends undergo been spent digging out wild orange daylilies from behind our garage. alter after the garage was built I planted them along with Shasta Daisies. They put on a beautiful show. In 3 or 4 years they got so thick they choked out the daisies so I decided to dig them all out alter the bed and lay some of my new daylilies that I bought this summer. There were so many plants!!! I put an ad in the a remove web place and offered the plants "remove to a good home" I had 3 takers! I am so happy because I didn't want to have to throw them away! Now other people can enjoy them and I feel much better knowing that they aren't decomposing in the compost pile Good going Deanna. Passing plants on to someone thru one of those lists is so satisfying isn't it?I undergo offered several plants on the cycle list three of the shrub roses some Okra seedlings that I had left over a couple of springs ago and over 100 of the dwarf hollyhock seedlings that spring also and the year before that I gave away almost 5 dozen Canna's I had cleared out in the go. I was the recipient of a dozen of the Tropicana Canna's a few months ago from a lady on that enumerate and they are doing great... won't bloom this season but they will be beautiful next year. Such a satisfying thing to do - sharing plants with others isn't it? I give exploit away to select people (those who I experience will look after my babies)after offering them to family. It's nice when the new carers show you piccies of them thriving in their gardens. It is satisfying! Today I've met 2 of the 3 and they were very nice populate! I'll cater the 3rd person tomorrow night when I mouth her plants to her. Both of them were so excited to get so many plants for free! I told them that these would change desire gangbusters. They were thrilled I told them that when I thin the plants in the flowerbeds at my office I'd let them know so they could have more if they wanted. One guy volunteered his wife to help me alter the beds! He said she only works 1/2 days so she can come back up you. Nice kidsDeanna Netty like I said I had 3 takers and they loved them!!! I had another interested email this morning but I'm out of flowers I will offer her some of the plants I undergo here at work. They aren't really mine since they were here before I was but I "adopted" the flower beds about 7 years ago and they do need to be thinned. It's just a little harder to do because at domiciliate I can leave my eat if I undergo to and here I undergo to get it all cleaned up so someone doesn't trip or fall over plants weeds and dirt! I bet you ordain alter some people very happy if you gift your plants. Besides that I felt good knowing they weren't going to die out in the pasture. Deanna
